The annual event aims to promote the capital’s image as a safe, friendly, quality, and attractive tourist destination to draw more visitors to Ha Noi during the National Day holidays. It’s also meant to mark the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (10th October, 1954 - 2024) and respond to the Visit Vietnam Year - Dien Bien 2024.

This is an opportunity for Ha Noi to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists the unique cultural and culinary beauty of the land of a thousand years of civilization.

The festival will introduce Vietnamese-branded tourism gifts to domestic and international tourists, help boost the gift manufacturing industry, and contribute to strengthening tourism and culture connections.

It is expected to help preserve, honour the unique values of local cultural heritage and traditional crafts and bring into play in the tourism development. Thereby, enhance the experience of tourists in Ha Noi, encourage the development of the capital's tourism industry, and actively contribute to the city's socio-economic development.

In addition, the Festival is organised to promote connections and cooperation between state management agencies, associations, craft villages, craft streets, tourism businesses with artisans, individuals and organisations participating in the tourism product supply chain in the city and localities nationwide.

This year's festival aims to develop culinary gift tourism - a new trend in many countries - thereby helping visitors not only experience food and drinks, but also experience the cultural identity and life of the community at the destination.

Through the activities at the Festival, visitors can also learn and explore the cultural stories of Ha Noi behind each gift.

Through these "gifts", the Ha Noi Tourism Gift Festival 2024 aims to honour the culinary quintessence of Ha Noi. Thereby contributing to preserving and promoting folk culinary culture; discovering and honouring folk artisans; collecting and preserving ancient recipes and processing methods.

At the same time, preserving and promoting the culinary treasure not only of the Viet people, but also of ethnic minorities across the country, contributing to the development of the capital's tourism industry.

The highlight of the Festival is the Opening Ceremony, which will be impressive with the convergence of many elaborate art performances, 3D mapping technology performances, and contemporary dragon dance art,... bringing a unique visual experience to the audience.

Telling the stories of past and present cuisine, the programme also delves into the harmony and convergence between the culinary flow and the cultural and historical flow of Ha Noi.

Within the framework of the Festival, there are spaces for introduction, exhibition and promotion such as: Travel gift product space of enterprises producing and trading unique gift products; Space to introduce products of tourism service businesses; Space to experience craft villages; Exhibition space to check-in the beauty of Ha Noi; Space to introduce culinary quintessence.

The festival attracts dozens of booths, opening up a "36 streets" space that is close and familiar to the publicand introduces the beauty and charm of Ha Noi through gifts with the typical flavours of the 36 streets.

Besides that, there are street performances: Festival drum performance; Gong performances by Muong ethnic people (Thach That District), along with street circus performances, hip hop, and Flashmob... All will bring visitors joyful and interesting experiences.

Coming to the Festival, visitors can also participate in craft workshops such as making flute kites, performing silk reeling and silk painting, making bamboo dragonflies, making to he, making hats, colouring pictures, painting ceramic vases...; with culinary workshops such as: coffee making instructions, bartender and many other interesting activities.
