Chef Nguyen Van Thong, one of two Vietnamese chefs performing at the Vietnamese Food Festival in India, shared with Voice of Vietnam (VOV): “In this Vietnamese culinary show, I bring a typical Vietnamese dish, chicken pho. Chicken Pho is cooked from chicken meat and chicken bones, creating a deep sweetness in the broth, combined with typical herbs such as ginger, coriander, onions, especially Vietnamese pepper, creating a fragrant aroma for the dish. This time I am presenting chicken pho because it is more popular with Indians. Chicken pho is light and elegant, with the flavour of Ha Noi.”.
During the two days of the event, the Vietnamese culinary booth welcomed hundreds of visitors to come and experience the Vietnamese cultural space and unique features of dishes from the country; including many representatives of businesses in the hotel, restaurant and food and beverage sectors in India. This is a valuable opportunity to exchange and promote Vietnamese culinary culture to the international community, especially in the Indian market.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exhibition and Convention Centre talked to Voice of Vietnam (VOV): “We welcome the Vietnamese delegation to attend this exhibition. And we get to witness the unique cuisine and craft culture of Vietnam here. We also see a fusion of Vietnamese and Indian cuisine. Vietnam's presence here was welcomed by Indian exhibitors and visitors. I am very happy about this. Vietnam is a favourite destination for Indians because Indians love to travel there, and enjoy the food. Indians want to understand more about Vietnam through activities like this. And I believe that with this Vietnamese food festival, we will bring more cultures of the two countries together”.
