(TITC) - On 6th August 2024, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) of Vietnam, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong hosted the Awarding Ceremony the medal “For the cause of culture, sports and tourism” for H.E. Mr. Hans-Peter Glanzer, Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam.
At the Ceremony, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong affirmed that during his tenure in Vietnam, Ambassador Hans-Peter Glanzer made many contributions, helping to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture, sports and tourism. The Ambassador always has special feelings for Vietnamese culture and people.

Furthermore, the Ambassador always attaches importance to cultural diplomacy. Under the active guidance of the Ambassador, the Austrian Embassy in Ha Noi has coordinated with the MOCST and Vietnamese agencies to organise cultural and artistic exchange programmes… These activities have contributed to enhancing people's access to and participation in cultural and artistic activities; promoting interaction among the people of the two countries.
In the coming time, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong hopes that the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation activities in culture, sports and tourism through specific activities, such as organise more art performances and exhibitions about the country, culture and people of the two countries; promote human resource cooperation in the fields of culture and art…
MOCST’s Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong hopes that the Ambassador will continue to contribute to the success of the Vietnam-Austria culture, sports and tourism cooperation relationship.
Speaking at the Awarding Ceremony, Ambassador Hans-Peter Glanzer said that during his term as Ambassador to Vietnam, he and the Austrian Embassy in Ha Noi always received enthusiastic support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. These efforts have helped the Vietnam-Austria culture, sports and tourism cooperation relationship develop stably and sustainably; creating a solid foundation for implementing many future cooperation activities.
The Ambassador also expressed his belief that cultural and people-to-people exchange activities will continue to be a bridge to promote economic and tourism cooperation, further developing the Vietnam-Austria relationship.
Culture, sports and tourism exchange activities need to be enhanced by the two countries in the direction of constant innovation and creativity, bearing the strong cultural imprint of Vietnam and Austria. With sincere gratitude for the recognition of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ambassador emphasised that through many specific activities, the Ambassador will continue to contribute to fostering the culture, sports and tourism cooperation relationship between the two countries.

In recent times, Ambassador Hans-Peter Glanzer has collaborated with many educational institutions in many cities to bring the image and culture of Austria to the Vietnamese people.
Especially within the framework of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Austria (1972 - 2022), the Austrian Embassy and Consulate have organised many events such as painting exhibitions, the classical concert series Musik aus Wien, Saxophone concerts…
With the desire to enhance the friendly relations between the two countries, the Ambassador always creates all conditions and connections so that the art troupes of the two countries can exchange, perform and work. Among them, there are many concerts in collaboration with artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, and the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
