The meeting took place in Hue City with the participation of leaders of the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism of Salavan Province and leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Information and Communications of Thua Thien Hue Province. At the meeting, the two localities shared information on the implementation of culture, sports and tourism activities in recent times. Among them, there are many large-scale programmes and events that contribute to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

The two localities also made a number of proposals for cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism in the next phase. In particular, continue to maintain and coordinate the organisation of cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities between the two countries, between Thua Thien Hue Province and Salavan Province. In addition, promote the exchange of delegations to visit, exchange experiences and cooperate in the fields of scientific research, archaeology, conservation, heritage restoration, culture, arts, and sports.

In addition, they will strengthen joint cooperation in tourism promotion, building regional tours where both sides have specific strengths which is the chain of world cultural heritage sites. Promote cooperation and exchange, and train human resources for the culture and tourism sectors; organise annual joint forums for both sides to participate in on the topics of cooperation and development of culture and tourism, etc.
