(TITC) - On 10th July 2024, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong had a meeting with Ms. Sapna Chadha, Vice President Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier, Google Asia Pacific.
MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong warmly welcomed Ms. Sapna Chadha and the business delegation to Vietnam. MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong said Google is currently one of the most valuable corporations in the world. Recently, Google has been doing business successfully in Vietnam with many products that have become popular and familiar to consumers.
At the same time, Google also implements many initiatives and programmes to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism to international friends. MOCST sent out sincere thanks to Google for its cooperation in recent promotional campaigns. On this occasion, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hopes that the cooperation between Google and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will become increasingly closer and more effective in the coming period.

Ms. Sapna Chadha said that for many years, Google has always accompanied the development of Vietnam's Culture, Sports and Tourism industry, especially with campaigns to promote Vietnam's cultural heritage and tourism.
Ms. Sapna Chadha affirmed that with its strengths, Google is ready to continue accompanying Vietnam in promoting culture and tourism as well as preserving and promoting Vietnam's cultural heritage values. Google is also committed to increasing its presence in the Vietnamese market, contributing to the development of Vietnam's culture, sports and tourism.
At the meeting, Ms. Sapna Chadha gave a brief introduction about the Google Arts & Culture (GAC) platform. Accordingly, GAC is an online platform that introduces high-resolution images and videos of works of arts and cultural artefacts from around the world. This is a non-profit initiative developed and launched by the Google Cultural Institute, part of Google Corporation, in February 2011.

GAC's mission is to preserve and bring the world's art and culture to cyberspace; so that everyone, everywhere can reach and access it. In particular, Vibrant Vietnam - A picture of people, culture and biodiversity is a project independently implemented by GAC, focusing on topics such as cultural diversity, ethnic minority communities and the relationship of human life with natural conditions.
The project was officially released online on the GAC platform on 10th July, at https://artsandculture.google.com/project/vibrant-vietnam-people-places-nature.
With the launch of the project, Ms. Sapna Chadha hopes that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Google can research and sign a cooperation agreement on introducing Vietnam's world heritage on the GAC platform and the above project. The promotion of Vietnam's world heritage sites on Google platforms will contribute to affirming Vietnam's efforts in preserving and promoting the values of heritage; strengthen the promotion of images and destinations of Vietnam tourism to international friends.

Appreciate Google's initiatives in supporting Vietnam to promote culture and tourism, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasised, the meeting will contribute to enhancing the cooperative relationship between the MOCST and Google, as well as suggest many solutions to enhance the promotion of Vietnamese culture and tourism on the group's platforms.

Besides, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hopes that Google will continue their support on programmes and projects that promote and preserve Vietnam's traditional culture; help Vietnam train human resources in the fields of digital content, digital transformation, multimedia communication on culture, sports and tourism.
