At the Roadshow, the leader of VNAT, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh gave a thorough look about Vietnam’s destinations, updated on travel policy, including visa procedures, as well as answered to all the questions from attendees.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh stated, Vietnam has many advantages to develop tourism with rich in natural and cultural potentials, many unique and exotic tourism products. Cultural-historical tourism, ecological tourism, and marine tourism with beautiful landscapes and beaches, villages, the lifestyles of 54 ethnic groups are being exploited towards sustainable tourism development.

There are 08 UNESCO-recognized cultural and natural heritage sites, 15 intangible cultural heritage elements, 10 documentary heritage properties, and 03 global geoparks, 11 world biosphere reserves in Vietnam. Besides familiar destinations such as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Ha Long, many new and attractive destinations for tourists, especially from France and Europe, including: Sapa, the historical complex of Dien Bien Phu, Trang An Landscape Complex, the ancient capital of Hue, Hoi An Ancient Town, Son Doong Cave expedition, beach resorts on Phu Quoc Island... agri-tourism, community-based tourism, relying on nature and cultural experiences, traditional village culture, unique cultural festivals, and famous Vietnamese dishes such as Pho, Nem, Bun Cha and Banh Mi are highly favoured by international tourists.

Famous tourism festivals

Since Vietnam has many famous traditional and unique international festivals, notably the Hue Festival promoting the traditional cultural beauty of Vietnam, or the International Fireworks Festival in Da Nang - where visitors can enjoy the beauty of sound and light blending together, creating a light festival in the sky of Da Nang, visitors are advised to arrange the time to enjoy the festivals to the fullest.

Besides, many traditional festivals are held annually in localitites to honour national heroes and celebrities, crafts, historical and cultural values, sport spiric, etc.

Many destinations and tourism products have been ranked among the world’s leading lists by reputable travel advisory and evaluation sites such as World Travel Awards, TripAdvisor, Telegraph, and major media outlets like CNN and BBC.

Direct flight routes between Vietnam to France and Europe

Vietnam Airlines and Air France have launched direct flights connecting major cities and tourism centres of the two countries, thereby helping tourists travel more conveniently. Vietnam's tourism sector actively organises tourism promotion activities in France, such as organising famtrip groups, roadshows, participating in the International & French Travel Market - Top Resa, and other activities to boost tourist exchanges between the two nations.

Duration of stay to fully explore Vietnam

Vietnam’s government has exempted visas for French citizens travelling to Vietnam since 2015 and extended the temporary stay period for French tourists to 45 days from 15th August 2023.

Related the duration of stay to fully explore Vietnam, questioned by the attendees, the representative of the VNAT said that Vietnam is a country with many beautiful natural landscapes, unique traditional culture, attractive tourism products, and many delicious specialties…

Therefore, to create conditions for international tourists to have more time to explore the beauty of Vietnam, from 15th August 2023, the Vietnamese Government has issued a new visa policy, which increases the temporary stay duration for tourists who are unilaterally exempted from visas to Vietnam from 15 days to 45 days; issue electronic visas to citizens of all countries/territories with temporary residence duration increased from 30 days to 90 days.

Convenient direct flights, simple immigration procedures, attractive destinations and tourism products, and the warm hospitality of the people are ideal conditions to promote tourism development and attract tourists arround the world.
