On 23rd April, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association announced the organisation of the 2nd Vietnam Banh mi Festival in 2024, taking place at Le Van Tam Park, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, themed “Vietnam Banh mi - World’s culinary value”, at the same time, the event will gather famous banh mi brands for over 50 years. The festival will take place from 17th to 19th May 2024.

Thereby, there are about 150 booths joining this year’s festival, including: famous banh mi brands of over 50 years, bakeries, restaurants serving dishes with banh mi; spice ingredients suppliers…

The highlight of the festival will be the Dragon-shaped welcome gate area made of banh mi, expressing the meaning of Vietnamese banh mi's aspiration to reach further.

The Organising Board also placed a space to experience the history of formation and development of Vietnamese banh mi.

In this space, tools, images, and articles about Vietnamese banh mi through the periods of time will be displayed; also, the images of past and present banh mi, wall of ingredients for making banh mi… will be reenacted.

In addition to a number of seminars, such as "Vietnam banh mi with world travel and cuisine,", in the framework of the festival, notable programmes include starting up a business from a banh mi truck for women and students in the bakery industry, introducing the experience of making banh mi from rice flour and grains, combined with Vietnamese agricultural products…

As of 24th March 2024, the two words Banh Mi have been recorded in the Oxford dictionary for 13 years. Along with that, the name of banh mi is continuously promoted and this dish is constantly developing and becoming increasingly attractive.

Remarkably, on 11th March 2024, Taste Atlas posted an article "Top 100 sandwiches in the world", including Vietnam Banh mi in No.1 and Taste Atlas also suggested visitors to a number of famous banh mi shops for a taste experience.
