(TITC) - On 1st August 2023, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) attended the Opening ceremony of Lotte World Aquarium in Ha Noi - the largest indoor aquarium in the capital.
Attending the Ceremony were Mr. Choi Hong Hoon, Lotte World CEO; Mr. Lee Chang Kun, Vietnam tourism ambassador in Korea; Mr. Hoang Nghia Son, Director of the Institute of Tropical Biology; Mr. Park Jae Sung, Director of Lotte World Aquarium, and representatives of domestic and international organisations.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Lotte World Aquarium Ha Noi opened its doors to welcome the first visitors to visit and experience. Besides interesting activities of the Aquarium such as: fish feeding performances at the main tank, interaction at the touch tank. On the first opening day, visitors also enjoyed other impressive performances, especially the diving performance with greetings and meaningful message: "Living together, dreaming together", expressing the spirit of people living together in harmony and protecting the blue ocean environment.
With a total area of more than 9,000m2 and a capacity of up to 3,400 tons of water, owning the largest acrylic dome tank in Southeast Asia (18 x 5.8m) and the largest touch tank in Vietnam (with a capacity of 90 tons of water), Lotte World Aquarium Ha Noi officially becomes the largest indoor aquarium in the capital. Operated by the Life Support System and leading modern technologies, the aquarium provides an ideal habitat for about 400 species and 31,000 individuals of marine life from all over the world, remarkably rare and endangered species, such as: Sand tiger sharks, Humboldt penguins, sea lions… Along the 650m long aquarium road, this journey will take visitors through 4 main areas: Peaceful Village, Walking on the Sea, Exploring the Blue Sea and ending at Ocean Square.

Lotte World Aquarium Ha Noi is Lotte World's first project built overseas, marking the development of Lotte World in Vietnam as well as around the world. This work is designed to provide authentic experiences of the ocean world, helping visitors better understand life under the blue sea, thereby changing awareness and behaviour of environmental protection. Mr. Choi Hong Hoon, Lotte World CEO hopes that in the near future, this place will become the most popular tourist attraction in the capital.
With the desire to contribute to the development of Vietnam's tourism industry, in the coming time, Lotte World Vietnam will continue to strengthen relationships and promote strategic cooperation with VNAT.

Besides, in order to join hands to preserve and protect the environment, especially the marine environment, Lotte World Aquarium Ha Noi aims to be not only an ordinary sightseeing - entertainment place, but also play a role is a professional organisation that actively contributes to the conservation of marine ecosystems and fosters a culture of respect for life in the Vietnamese people. In April 2023, Lotte World Aquarium Ha Noi signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Tropical Biology under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, aiming to conserve marine biodiversity and coordinate in the field of research.

Previously, Lotte World CEO Choi Hong Hoon had a meeting with VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh. The two sides discussed plans to promote cooperation in tourism in the near future. Thereby, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh highly appreciates entertainment products of Lotte World Vietnam and he expects that this will be a place to attract tourists, contributing to the development of tourism in the capital. VNAT is always ready to coordinate with Lotte World Vietnam to implement promotion programmes, and at the same time, the two sides will continue to discuss the consideration of signing a cooperation document, emphasised VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh.
