According to the Government News, on 13th June 2023, the authority of Wakayama Prefecture (Japan) announced the operation of new international flights from Nanki Shirahama Airport (Japan) to two localities of Vietnam including Ha Noi and Da Nang from July onwards.
Thereby, the first two rounded-flights from Nanki Shirahama Airport (Japan) to Ha Noi and Da Nang will take place on 16th and 30th July. The aircraft used is an Airbus 320 with 140 seats, which is expected to bring the delegation of Wakayama Prefecture to visit localities in Vietnam and welcome tourists from Vietnam to this province.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, from 2022, Vietnam and Japan had activities to promote the operation of air routes between the two countries.
Nanki Shirahama Airport used to have charter flights from South Korea, China and a number of other countries. However, it had to suspend operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
From October 2022, after the Japanese Government eased border controls, Wakayama Prefecture has allocated a local budget of 21 million yen (about $150,000) to promote and connect international flights.
Wakayama Prefecture is also the place to receive a large number of Vietnamese technical interns to work in agriculture, food processing, and seafood processing…
